Energy Matrix Group (Energy Matrix) is Energy Matrix Group Pty Limited and its subsidiaries Agora Gas, Agora Retail, Project Consultancy Services and Gas Trading Australia) provides a range of services to the Australian energy sector including consulting and commercial project management, gas supply management, gas trading, gas transportation, gas retail and equity gas marketing.
Commitment to Privacy
Energy Matrix understand the importance of handling personal information appropriately and is committed to managing any personal information it collects in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy:
- applies to all personal information collected by Energy Matrix; and
- outlines how Energy Matrix will manage any personal information it collects in accordance with the APPs set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act).
Collecting Personal Information
It is Energy Matrix’s usual practice to collect personal information directly from you only as and when it is necessary. Your information may also be collected from third parties and from publicly available sources such as websites and telephone directories. Energy Matrix does not collect personal information if you only browse our website, however we may use aggregated data from Google Analytics for the purposes of evaluating website usage.
The personal information we collect about you will generally be incidental to the services we provide your business and will relate to your role, such as:
- your name;
- your position; and
- your contact details (e.g. business and postal addresses, phone numbers and email address)
- other personal information a person may disclose to Energy Matrix in relation to our business operations, or which is contained in communications between Energy Matrix and a person.
Generally, we do not collect or hold sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) about you.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
Energy Matrix will only use your personal information provided by you for the purposes for which you provided it – namely in relation to the provision of goods and services by Energy Matrix and its subsidiaries to your business and for the conduct of our business and for management purposes.
Energy Matrix does not disclose information about you to other organisations or to anyone else, unless:
- you consent to that disclosure;
- for the primary purpose of performing services under a contract;
- we disclose to third-party service providers and other entities for business purposes;
- we are of the view that you would reasonably expect us to disclose the information;
- disclosure is required or authorised by law; or
- disclosure is necessary to prevent or lessen an imminent threat to life, health or property.
Storage of Personal Information
Energy Matrix takes precautions to protect the personal information we hold about you from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, misuse or unintentional loss. The precautions we take include:
- storing personal information in a secure manner;
- requiring the use of passwords, keys or other devices to restrict access to personal information;
- ensuring Energy Matrix personnel understand their obligations in relation to your personal information; and
- securely destroying the personal information when we no longer require it.
Accessing Your Information
You have the right to access and correct the information we hold about you and we will respond to your request within 10 business days. We will not charge you for any information we provide, or for any changes you request we make to the personal information we hold about you.
Complaints
If you believe that we have breached the APPs in any way in relation to your personal information, you may make a complaint to our General Counsel through either our Perth or Melbourne offices.

When we receive your complaint, we will seek to resolve it quickly and fairly. We will follow the process below.
- We will acknowledge your complaint in writing (by email or post). We will do this as quickly as possible, but at least within 10 business days of receiving your complaint.
- If we need any further information to resolve your complaint, we will contact you. You may indicate to us your preferred form of communication and we will use this form wherever practicable.
- We will respond to your complaint in writing advising you of the outcome and the reasons for our decision. We will endeavor to resolve your complaint within 20 business days of receiving it. Where this is not possible, we will contact you to advise why and discuss how best to resolve your complaint.
